Here is a guide to home care products we love!  What we do in the office is only a part of your journey to optimal health and overall health and we want you to have the right tools to continue the journey at home.

Some of these products we carry in the office, and many of these can be found on Amazon, Costco, Target or where ever you prefer to shop.  We’ve included the links to the actual product websites so you can see the exact product we recommend and make sure what you are finding elsewhere is the same.  Products are constantly changing and we try to stay as up to date as possible in the what is available to you over the counter.  Please always ask us at your next appointment if you have any questions or concerns or come across a product you love and want to know more about.

Waterpik

We love ALL the models.  Pick one that fits your lifestyle and your counter space.  If it isn’t convenient you won’t use it.  One patient described it to us like massage for your gums. Doesn’t that sound amazing?  Watch out for the water park experience the first time you use it. EVERYTHING will be wet but you’ll get the hang of it eventually. We promise.

Mute Nasal Dilators

More nasal breathing help.  If you use a breathe right strip you may find this helps you even more. They come in three different sizes.  We recommend trying the trial pack first if you are unsure so you can figure out which size is most comfortable.  If your nose isn’t open you can’t breathe through it.

Cocofloss

Anything to make flossing fun!  Cocofloss comes in A LOT of FUN flavors. Have you ever flossed with dark chocolate, birthday cake or cara cara orange?  They constantly rotate their flavors so flossing is always fun.  Don’t worry they also have mint for those more traditional tastes. This brand is made without plastics and teflon and the container is recyclable.  We like how it scrubs between your teeth!  It’s like a loofah for your tooth(ah?)

Dr. Jen’s Toothpaste

Dr. Jen’s toothpaste line is another brand that offers fluoride and nano-hydroxyapatite in one paste.  Hit those cavities hard! They do offer non-fluoride options if that is the choice you have made but if you don’t use fluoride, then nano-hydroxyapatite is a must.  We LOVE their Super Paste, which contains both fluoride and 10% nano-hydroxyapatite!  They also make a great floss made from silk and vegetable based wax in lieu of plastics and teflon and can be a little easier to use than the Cocofloss if you have tight contacts between your teeth or dental appliances to floss around.

GumChucks

Guess what… more floss.  If you are starting to think that we really like flossing, you are correct!  GumChucks also make flossing fun and EASY.  The handles and replaceable floss insert allow you to curve the floss into the correct c-shape around the tooth as opposed to the traditional floss picks.  We know you’ll feel like a ninja while you floss but watch out for your sink mate when you press the eject button and the floss goes flying.  (See we told you flossing could be fun!)
